Brazilian Blowout: Love it or hate it?

in Hair Products

Much has been said about the Brazilian Blowout and the controversy is far from over. We still carry out this hair straightening treatment and do our best to inform our clients on all the latest news. We are also very careful with the application process. Fortunately, no one in our hair salon has had any negative outcomes. The thing is, we live and work in New York so we care about being healthy, almost to an OCD level. Watch the facts and leave a comment, tell us what you guys think? Would you still consider a Brazilian Blowout treatment?

The Company that does business as Brazilian Blowout, GIB, LLC, has filed a lawsuit against Oregon OSHA demanding that the agency stop reporting false and misleading test results about its popular hair smoothing product. The complaint says Oregon OSHA manipulated testing that wrongly asserts that Brazilian Blowout Acai Professional Smoothing Solution is unsafe. ~ Brazilian Blowout Complaint

I’ve had the treatment quite a few times and have no negative effects… however, I’m happy that there is always extra ventilation whenever the treatment is applied. Can’t be too careful now….can you? Plus, I do love the way my hair responds to the process…… :)

I love the treatment, however it doesn’t last nearly as long as some of the others out there. I’ve had the Coppola treatment which lasted for months but sadly the Brazilian Blowout doesn’t hold up :(

Wait, how long did it last in comparison? Did you have it done at our salon?

I was really interested in coming in and getting this treatment. There are just too many red flags out there on the internet. I am going to have to pass, the health risk is just too alarming.

I had the Brazilian Blowout applied about a month ago. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I hate it. My scalp/root area of my hair is always greasy looking. I wash my hair with Loreal sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. I just want this “treatment” out of my hair. Is there any easy way to do it? I can’t imagine 8 more weeks of this……..

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are disliking it so much. Are your greasy roots the only problem or do you have other issues too? Try to go back to a regular shampoo. If you want it out of your hair you have to stop using a sulfate free shampoo. Did you have it done at our salon?
